For our final project in art 107 we received the freedom to do whatever we wanted to as long as we incorporated the theme of time. I made a flip book containing 76 images. I went to various locations and filmed myself fishing in areas I think about fishing. I filmed in church, school, and my bedroom. The cover is in the style of Raymond Pettibon, an artist I researched for this assignment.
This is a body suit in the style of Nick Cave and Jane Sterbak. The Wu Xing themes used for this suit include: Tendons, pulse, muscles. skin and bones. The belts represent skin, the glass represents bone, the cloth represents tendons and the sound represent pulse. This is no doubt the most uncanny art I have ever created. Me and two others worked on this together and it was extremely stressful. I am not particularly fond of this project
We were required to use images associated with the Taoist theme of Wu Xing in making this college. For my piece, I used images found by Google searching these words: Sight, sour, youth, mouth, touch, nose, rotten, and hearing. I really found this experience interesting and am happy with my results. I cant choose which one I prefer as both have aspects I adore.
This is a timeline of key time periods in art history. The graphic design artist I used was Paul Rand; the creator of the famous IBM logo and other well known companies. Paul Rand uses very simple shapes to create art and I tried to capture his style in my piece.
In this project we walked around filming, then we played back the video on our phones and filmed that while walking the same rout.
Time-Lapse AnimationFinished Happening Video:
Inspired by Yoko Ono's artist's book, Grapefruit, we created our own happenings and wrote them down. We then chose which ones were best and created a time lapse
